Albanian artist Saimir Strati used 300,000 industrial screws to create a massive banknote mosaic featuring a portrait of Homer, the ancient Greek poet.
“Currency of the Soul” was assembled by driving screws into an eight foot by fifteen foot wooden frame with a Makita power drill. The work took about two weeks to complete.
Strati has applied for a Guinness world record as the largest mosaic made with industrial screws.
The artist already holds four world records for his works, which include mosaics made from nails, bottle corks and paintbrushes. ©2011 GlobalFastenerNews.com
