Anixter Pentacon Sales Grow
Jason Sandefur
Sales for the first quarter of 2003 grew 11.6% to$49.6 million over fourth quarter 2002 results for Anixter Pentacon. The performance helped parent company Anixter International Inc. post an 8% Q1 sales gain to $662.2 million, with operating profits increasing 10% to $22.6 million. Anixter International acquired Pentacon in September 2002.
CEO Robert Grubbs said Pentacons results were achieved despite very soft production schedules, and showed signs of renewed customer confidence. Grubbs also reported that the combining of $130 million worth of Anixter OEM wire and cable sales into Pentacon is making good progress. Web: anixter.com 2003 FastenerNews.com
