Account Manager needed for a distributor of high-quality industrial fasteners. We are authorized distributors for ITW Shakeproof, ITW Fastex, Sherex Fastening Solutions, Heyco, Rotor Clip and Pop Brand fasteners division of Stanley Engineered Fasteners to name a few. We are looking for a competitive individual to serve as Account Manager who has the ability and experience to grow sales and manage accounts. This role will be responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating all activities for assigned accounts. The successful candidate will be a key player in developing sales strategies and attracting new clients. Candidates that tend to be successful in this position are adaptable to a small company environment (flat organizational structure); hands-on management style; be task and results oriented; able to work and communicate effectively with everyone from the staff to customers to suppliers while efficiently reporting to off-site management. This is a detail-oriented position that requires a candidate who will roll up their sleeves and drive all facets of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options.
  • Increase sales and visibility to new and existing customers while maintaining customer relationships by introducing new products, demonstrating features and answering questions regarding product applications.
  • Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions.
  • Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Review and entry of customer orders, include contract review, entry of demand in MRP/ERP system, production planning, quoting of new inquiries.
  • Role will require individual to manage internal activities however local travel will be required to call on new and existing customers.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2 to 4 year College Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Marketing and/or other business related degree, plus 2 to 3 years of experience with a DOTR 3PL, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven success in Account Management/Sales
  • Fastener industry experience in the local market.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Other Skills and Abilities: Flexibility to work longer hours when job requires.
