1991 FIN – Bamal Names New Team
June 4, 1991 FIN – Bamal Fastener Corp., Farmington Hills, Michigan, has made some changes in its upper ranks. Mikel D. Millerhas been named president and chief operating officer.
Miller, who has been with the company for 19 years, was previously vice president. In his new position, he’ll direct overall operations of Bamal’s two facilities in Farmington Hills, Michigan and Sidney, Ohio.
Miller succeeds his father, Douglas V. Miller, one of the founders of the company, who is now chairman of the board.
David Kelton, previously vice president of automotive sales, has been promoted to executive vice president at Bamal. Kelton, with over 40 years in the fastener industry, joined the company in 1982.
Richard Sharkey, previously Bamal sales manager, has been promoted to vice president of sales, responsible for all inside and outside sales activities. Sharkey, a 30-year veteran in the fastener industry, joined Bamal in 1983.
Alan Zinger has recently joined Bamal as marketing manager. Zinger has 11 years of background having held positions as general manager and sales manager at AFI and Rumco in Illinois, and Stanley Industries in Michigan.
Founded in 1953, Bamal Fastener Corp. is now owned by the Miller family. The company is a nationwide distributor for a wide range of fasteners including nuts, bolts, screws, washers, injection molded fasteners, clips, and numerous other fastening devices.
Bamal, which maintains a fully equipped QC lab, was recently selected as one of two distributors to earn the Ford Q1 award as a quality supplier to Ford’s North American assembly operations. ©1991/2010 Fastener Industry News
