SFS Stadler of Switzerland Acquires Construction Fasteners of U.S.

European fastener manufacturer SFS Stadler Inc. agreed to acquire Wyomissing, PA-based Construction Fasteners Inc. in January 2002.
SFS, based in Heerbrugg, Switzerland, manufactures fastener systems for metal buildings and commercial flat roof industries. SFS employees 3,100 people in 20 countries and had sales of US$550 million in 2000.
CFI was founded in 1956 in Reading, PA and supplies engineering fasteners to the roofing and metal construction industries. CFI is headed by CEO Irvin Cohen.
CFI has facilities in Durant, IA; Reading; Sacramento, CA; Salem, OR; Atlanta; Houston; Toronto; and London.
Management of the two companies will merge U.S. commercial flat roofing products divisions into a single supplier and the metal building fastener division will remain headquartered in Wyomissing, with a national network of distribution centers. Web: constructionfasteners.com �2001 FastenerNews.com
