Alleghany Estimates Insurance Losses Total $112 Million

Alleghany Corporation�s insurance subsidiary may have lost an estimated $112 million in the September 11th tragedies.
Alleghany Corporation is the parent company of fastener importer Heads & Threads International.
Alleghany Insurance Holdings LLC, which provides global insurance and reinsurance through the Lloyd’s of London market, estimates the loss pre-tax (net of reinsurance recoveries and reinstatement premiums), principally in respect of its Property Treaty and Aviation Treaty businesses, as a result of the September 11th
events.
Alleghany�s corporate headquarters is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
