ITW Revenue Flat for Quarter
John Wolz
Illinois Tool Works Inc. reported flat operating revenues for the three months ended August 31, 2001.
Operating revenues consisted of 9% growth from acquisitions, offset by a 6% decline from base businesses and a 3% decrease due to currency translation.
ITW attributed the performance to the weak North American economy, including the automotive, general industrial and construction markets.
North American engineered products were down 6% and international engineered products were up 12%. North American specialty systems revenues rose 9% and international 2%. Consumer product revenue dropped 11%. 2001 FastenerNews.com
