The publishers of the Engineers Black Book have released the first edition of the Fastener Black Book. The 248-page book includes information on standard fasteners and is designed for tool rooms, machine shops, fabricators, apprentices, technical trade colleges, and industrial and fastener professionals.
Color-coded sections include general inch and metric fasteners; specifications; stainless steel, aluminum, non-ferrous, plastic and self-tapping fasteners; fastener identification; and tapping charts. Within sections there is information on plating and finishes; pre-loads and torques; thread terminology and classifications; standard grades, tolerances and markings; thread forms, head styles, thread points and materials. The wire-bound book lays flat and includes a metal thread pitch identification gage.
