Republic Moves Division to Massillon

John Wolz

Republic Engineered Products Inc. relocated its cold finished division headquarters to its manufacturing plant in Massillon, OH.

Division manager Michael Eberth said combining sales and manufacturing allows “greater efficiencies.”

CEO Jaime Vigil said Republic’s “strong desire to continuously improve our customer satisfaction has led us to make this strategic move. This decision is in sync with our overall objective of maintaining Republic’s position as the leading producer of special bar quality products in North America.”

The Massillon plant is the largest of three Republic cold finished bar manufacturing sites. The other facilities are in Gary, IN, and Hamilton, Ontario.
Republic manufactures cold-finished carbon and alloy bar products in rounds, hexagons, squares and flats in a variety of finishes, grades and qualities for steel distribution, automotive, off-highway and aircraft industries. Republic was established in 2003 with the purchase of operating assets from Republic Engineered Products, LLC. Republic subsequently was acquired in 2005 by Mexico City-based Industrias CH, S.A. de C.V. (ICH). Republic traces its history to the 1886 establishment of Berger Manufacturing Co. in Canton, OH, which later became part of the original Republic Steel Corp. Republic is headquartered at 3770 Embassy Pkwy., Akron, OH 44333-8367. Tel: 330 670-3000 or 800 232-7157 Fax 330 670-3106 Web: republicengineered.com 2009 FastenerNews.com
