Republic Engineered Products Inc. announced that Westmet International began representing its Cold-Finished Bar Products Division on Dec. 1, 2008, in the western U.S. and western Canada.
Fullerton, CA-based Westmet is a manufacturer”s rep that specializes in servicing the metals community in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, California, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. Westmet was founded in 1981. Web: westmet.com
Westmet “understands the value-added sector of the steel bar industry and can further position us as a leader in the cold-finished bar products market,” stated Republic CEO Jaime Vigil.
Republic produces steel for fasteners, forgings, hand tools, machine tools, appliances, automotive, bearings, converters, farm machinery, off-highway equipment, pumps and valves & fittings. Republic operates steelmaking centers in Ohio, New York, Indiana and Ontario, and employs about 2,500 people.
