May 21 NIFS/East at 163 Booths; November NIFS/West Approaching 800

Exhibit booth sales for the 28th annual National Industrial Show/East total 163 booths two weeks before the event. For the 12th annual November NIFS/West booth sales are approaching 800.
Last year NIFS/West set a record at 688 exhibitors with 829 booths. The previous NIFS record was 653 in 1998 in Columbus, OH.
Show manager Susan Hurley announced 594 companies have reserve 790 booths for the November 3-4, 2008, NIFS/West trade show at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The floorplan provides for nearly 1,150 booths.
Hurley noted NIFS/West booth sales are running ahead of the record pace of the 2007 show which had. “This is a 4% gain in companies and an 11% gain in exhibit space, which translates to more space per company,” Hurley noted.
As of May 7, the NIFS website lists 147 companies and organizations with a total of 163 booths for the May 21, 2008, trade show in Columbus, OH. Conferences and an opening reception are on Tuesday.
The 2007 NIFS/East in Atlanta drew 221 booths with 205 exhibiting companies. In the past decade, NIFS/East has ranged from the record 653 booths in 1998 to a low of 162 in 2002. In 2006 the last time the show was in Columbus there were 185 booths.
