Director of Purchasing

Mid sized fastener distributor looking for a for fasteners.

Qualifications are as follows:

• Must have good knowledge of both fasteners and sources from both domestic and international sources. Previous experience with vendors in Asia and China a plus.

• Minimum of 7 years experience in the fastener industry required.

• Possess excellent negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work well and interact with internal/external suppliers and customers.

• Strong work ethic and teamwork; “can do” attitude and desire to provide best service.

• Good computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint a plus) and experienced with MRP or ERP systems

• Good quantitative and analytical skills.

• Successful candidate will have occasional travel to supplier locations (domestic and Asia).

• Focus and track record with Continuous Improvement & Supplier Development.

• Ability to read blueprints is preferred.

• Familiarity with manufacturing and materials as with various types of fasteners is a plus.

• Salary commensurate with experience.
