Steve Fischer was elected chairman of the Industrial Fasteners Institute, and Tim Taylor of MacLean-Fogg Company is the new vice chairman.
Fischer, vice president of Fischer Special Manufacturing Co. of Cold Spring, KY, succeeds Bob Hill of Hill Fasteners.
Fischer�s father, Carl Fischer, was IFI chairman for 1982-83.
Taylor is Mundelein, IL-based MacLean-Fogg Company�s fasteners and components president.
New board members are: Dick Mowris, Rockford Products Corporation; Pat Wells, Young Engineers Inc.; and Bob Brunner, ITW/Shakeproof.
New division chairs and vice chairs are: Division I/Industrial Products, chair Jeff Ferry, Telefast Industries, vice chair Jerry Demars, Nucor Fasteners; Division II/Aerospace, chair Ed Johnson, Fairchild Fasteners, vice chair Dick Smernoff, B&B Specialties Inc.; Division III/Automotive, chair Ed Plomer, ITW/Shakeproof, vice chair Marc Strandquist, Genfast Mfg.; and Suppliers Advisory Council, chair Brian Lowry, Commercial Steel Treating Corp., vice chair Mike Mowins, Phillps Screw Company.
The IFI is an association of North American manufacturers of bolts, nuts, screws, rivets, pins, washers and custom formed parts. Suppliers of materials, machinery, equipment and engineered services are associate members. \
