NIFS/East Reports 115 Booths Thus Far for 2008 in Columbus

Show management reported 115 booths booked for the 28th annual National Industrial Fastener Show/East.
The trade show will be Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Conferences by the Los Angeles Fastener Association and Western Association of Fastener Distributors and an opening reception will be on Tuesday.
In comparison to the 115 thus far for the 2008 show, as of December 15 a year ago, show management reported 137 booths sold for the 2007 show in Atlanta. At that point in 2006, show management reported booth sales were 50% higher than the same period in 2005.
The final count at the 2007 show in Atlanta was 221 booths with exhibiting 205 companies. The last show in Columbus in 2006 drew 185 booths. There were 223 booths in Baltimore in 2005. The East record was 653 in 1996 in Columbus. The 2007 West show in Las Vegas set a new NIFS record of 829 booths.
While the last NIFS/East in Columbus had fewer booths, at 510 the show drew the most distributors of the past six years. A total of 373 distributors registered for the 2007 show.
