FTI Presents 2007 Technical Awards to Shoberg, Haig & van Gent

Ralph Shoberg, Tom Haig and Jason van Gent received the third annual Fastener Technology International Technical Achievement Awards.
The FTI awards are given to individuals responsible for major technical developments related to making, distributing or using fasteners.
Shoberg was honored for his leadership in developing a verification system for performance of fasteners. Shoberg is president and technical director of Farmington Hills, MI-based RS Technologies Ltd., a manufacturer of torque and force measurement equipment.
Haig was honored for his development of the Magni 565 coating system. Haig is with Magni Industries of Detroit.
van Gent, a product developer at Faster Fasteners Ltd. Of New Zealand, was cited for his work in developing the Aaveds Nut.
Class of 2006 winners were: Brian Faucher, vice president of engineering & operations, Reed Machinery Inc.; and Michael Garver, president, MA Thread Inc.
Honored in 2005 were Stanley Johnson, president of Johnson Thread-View Systems LLC and executive vice president of Johnson Gage Co.; David Wiesenfeld, founder, Videx Machine Engineering Ltd.; Robert Zankl, founder, Miami Rivet Company; John Belise, manufacturing engineer, Donaldson Company Inc.; and Richard Duffy, engineer, Nylok Corp.
