FIN Fastener Stock Index Jumps 25% During H1 of 2007

The FIN Fastener Stock Index jumped 25% during the first six months of 2007, tripling the gains of other industrial stocks, which achieved an 8% increase during the period.
The FINdex was helped by strong second quarter performances from publicly traded companies that handle fasteners. During Q2 the FINdex rose 14.1%, compared with a 7.7% gain by an index of related industrial stocks.
All but two of the public fastener companies tracked by FastenerNews.com saw their stock price grow during Q2. Nucor stock dipped 10% during the period, and Paulin recorded a stock split.
Park-Ohio achieved the largest percentage gain in Q2, with the company’s stock soaring 47.5%. Barnes Group was a close second, gaining 37% in share value. B/E Aerospace also achieved a 30% jump in stock price during the period. �2007 FastenerNews.com
