FIN Survey Indicators for 2007: Fastener Prices Headed Up

More than 62% of the companies participating in the End of 2006 FIN Survey of the Fastener Industry anticipate raising prices an average of 5.5% in the next six months.
However, a majority of manufacturers expect raw material prices to rise during 2007 and 44.4% expect “modest” cost increases. More than one third plan to increase capital investment.
Substantial majorities of fastener companies predict sales and profit growth during 2007.
More than a quarter of companies plan to add more workers during 2007, while 62% intend to keep their staffing the same. About 60% of respondents plan to boost pay an average of 3.2%.
