Marbacher, Rudolph & Dowling on NEFDA Berry Amendment Panel
Marbacher, Rudolph & Dowling on NEFDA Berry Amendment Panel
Jason Sandefur
The New England Fastener Distributors Association will sponsor a panel discussion on the revised Berry Amendment involving preference for domestic specialty metals in fasteners.
Panelists are: Nancy Dowling, a federal government senior procurement analyst; Bossard director of engineering Bruno Marbacher; and Lehigh-Armstrong Inc. sales manager Rick Rudolph.
Last year the U.S. Congress revised the specialty metals provision of the Berry Amendment DFAR 252.225-7014. The language contains several specific changes to the law that aimed at addressing concerns raised by the fastener industry regarding availability of specialty metals. The updated language in Section 842: Protection of Strategic Materials Critical to National Security was passed as part of the FY2007 Defense Authorization Bill. The Department of Defense has yet to issue interim guidance on implementing the 2006 law (see FIN, October 3, 2006).
The NEFDA program begins at 7:30 p.m. following a reception and dinner February 22, 2007, at the Sturbridge Host Hotel & Conference Center, Sturbridge, MA. For information contact Joe Soja. Tel: 860 436-4652 Fax 860 436-4113 E-mail: JFS3@cox.net Web: nefda.com 2007 FastenerNews.com
