Alcoa Selling Aerospace Fastener Plant

Alcoa plans to sell its fastener factory in Hungary to cut operating costs, the company reported.
Alcoa is looking for buyers for its Alcoa-Kofem Kft. automotive products plant in Szekesfehervar, part of its Transportation Products Europe segment. The facility makes ingots, flat-rolled items and aerospace fasteners, among other products. Alcoa employs more than 5,000 workers in Hungary.
The company”s fastener division, Alcoa Fastening Systems, has 6,900 employees and manufactures at 21 locations in nine countries, and is headquartered in Torrance, CA. Web: Alcoafasteners.com �2009 FastenerNews.com
