The Home Depot Inc. acquired Denver-based Western Fasteners through its subsidiary, White Cap Construction Supply. Founded in 1967, Western Fasteners distributes construction fasteners, power tools and accessories through eight branches located in Colorado, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Terms of the deal, which closed June 2, were not disclosed.
“(Western Fastener’s) strong foundation of talent, relationships and operational expertise will strengthen White Cap’s ability to serve professional customers,” Home Depot said in a written statement. Web: westernfasteners.com
White Cap and Western Fasteners are part of Home Depot’s growth in the $410 billion professional supply market. Both are part of Home Depot Supply.
In its initial entry into the fastener industry, Home Depot bought Aliso Viejo, CA-based Crown Bolt Inc. and Brampton Fastener Co. Ltd. (Brafasco) of Canada in separate transactions during 2005.
The home improvement giant acquired White Cap in 2004. White Cap operates 133 branches in 26 states and stocks more than 65,000 products, including fasteners, brand name construction materials, hand tools, safety equipment and power tools. Web: whitecapdirect.com 2006 FastenerNews.com
