Nifco To Centralize Europe Operations in Poland
Jason Sandefur
Japan-based Nifco Inc. plans to move its European production facilities from the UK and Spain to a central facility in Poland. Nifco will set up a plastic autoparts production and sales subsidiary at a cost of about 300 million yen (US$2.51 million) to make fasteners and dies for automobiles.
The center is expected to have 65 employees when it opens in the spring of 2007. Nifco estimates the factory will create revenues of 1.5 billion yen (US$12.73 million).
Nifco’s announcement follows moves by automakers Toyota Motor Corp. and Suzuki Motor Corp. to boost production in Eastern Europe.
Yoshihiro Tosabayashi will serve as general manager. Web: nifco.com 2006 FastenerNews.com
