Alcoa Fastening Helps Lockheed Martin Improve Worker Safety
Jason Sandefur
Alcoa Fastening Systems is helping Lockheed Martin improve its safety practices. AFS hosted a benchmarking event with Lockheed Martin’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) corporate directors, at AFS’ facility in Carson, CA.
Lockheed Martin focused on learning how Alcoa handles fatality prevention and incident investigation, training, contractor safety, employee participation, culture change, and the Alcoa Self Assessment Tools (ASAT).
The AFS Carson operation’s Environmental and Health & Safety management systems have been recommended for ISO14001 and ISO18001 certification, one of Alcoa’s first locations to achieve this recognition.
Lockheed Martin will participate in a similar event with the Toyota Motor Company. 2005/6 FastenerNews.com
