Merrifield Leaving NFDA
Merrifield Leaving NFDA
John Wolz
Dave Merrifield resigned as executive vice president of the National Fastener Distributors Association effective April 1, 2005.
The NFDA board will begin a search for a new executive.
Merrifield plans to move from Cleveland where NFDA is headquartered to Colorado “to seek other opportunities and eventually retire,” according to the NFDA announcement.
Merrifield, a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, retired from the military as an Army lieutenant colonel in 1991. He was executive director of the International Association of Milk, Food & Environment Sanitarians when he was chosen by the NFDA in 1996.
At the time he was hired Merrifield explained he sought the NFDA role because he wanted more direct contact with association members than he had in his previous position and his official comment reflected that interest. “My greatest regret in moving on is leaving the many friends I”ve made throughout the years,” Merrifield was quoted in the NFDA announcement that he is leaving. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the association and will miss all the members.”
Until March 31 Merrifield can be contacted by e-mail at dmerrifield@nfda-fastener.org Web: nfda-fastener.org 2005 FastenerNews.com
