Black & Decker reported fastener sales for the third quarter of 2004 rose 13% to $142.3 million, while segment profit inched up 1.7% to $17.5 million. Black & Decker said sales were especially strong in North American and Asia. Capital expenditures grew 19% to $3.7 million.
For the first nine months of 2004, fastener sales increased 10.5% to $432.8 million, while profit gained 3.5% to $57.8 million. Nine-month capital investment slipped 15.4% to $8.2 million.
