Textron Fastening Opens Greenville, MS, Facility

Jason Sandefur

Textron Fastening Systems opened its new $35 million plant in Greenville, MS. The 308,000 sq ft facility produces custom-designed specialty threaded fasteners and engineered assemblies, primarily for the automotive industry. The factory has already created more than 350 jobs. In January, TFS said the plant would eventually employ 500 people. Dave Francois is plant manager.
TFS president Rick Clayton said he has been impressed with the people of the Mississippi Delta. “From the trainees who became our employees, to the many government agencies statewide who helped us, we received completely dedicated support. This enthusiastic welcome enabled us to make outstanding progress establishing a new world-class fastening facility here,” Clayton noted.
Much of the plant”s production comes from business consolidated from other TFS facilities in the Midwest. In 2003, TFS closed several plants in Rockford, IL. Web: textronfasteningsystems.com 2004 FastenerNews.com
