Ray Toosky and Soheil Eshraghi, aerospace fastening engineers from Textron Fastening Systems received the Textron Chairman”s Award for Innovation for originating and overseeing development of a fastening system that may save the aircraft industry millions of dollars annually.
Textron”s award recognizes innovation in new products and business processes in Textron business units that result in tangible gains in sales, profits, quality or competitive position.
Toosky is the principal aerospace product engineer and Eshraghi director of product engineering for aerospace fasteners at the Santa Ana, CA, Textron aerospace fastening facility.
The Cherry Rivetless Nut Plate can reduce installation times on aluminum structures by up to three minutes.
Toosky has been an aerospace engineer for more than 35 years and has been with Textron Fastening Systems for 21 years. Eshraghi joined Textron Fastening Systems in 1982 and has eight aerospace fastener patents.
