The first issue of Fastener Industry News was published 25 years ago today. Dick Callahan founded FIN with his spouse, Harriet Callahan, in their rural Connecticut home. Callahan, who had been and editor for several metals publications, was the first publisher and editor and Harriet was business manager.
John Wolz and Ann Bisgyer acquired FIN in 1994. FIN has been based in Portland, Oregon, since 1995 and is officially published as Fastener Industry News, Inc.
The first FIN Calendar was published for 1996. With the growth of the Internet, FIN began publishing News Flash on April 7, 2000, on FastenerNews.com. Last year 383 news items were posted on 236 days. Since January 2000, the full issues of FIN have been posted on FastenerNews.com. �2004 FastenerNews.com
