E&E Manufacturing Adds Tenn. Facility

Auto supplier E&E Manufacturing Co. announced plans to set up an engineered fastener and metal stamping facility in Athens, TN. According to the Knoxville News-Sentinel, E&E has purchased a vacant factory that it will use to begin production in November. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Plymouth, MI-based E&E plans to hire 75 to 100 workers initially, but said as many as 300 jobs could be created if business grows.
The News-Sentinel reported that E&E chose Athens because of an available work force and the city’s proximity to its existing customer base. E&E’s major customers include General Motors Co., Athens plant manager Paul Pratt told the News-Sentinel. Pratt declined to offer an estimate of E&E”s investment, but said the facility is being completely renovated and filled with new equipment.
Founded in 1962, E&E manufactures heavy gage fasteners, progressive die metal stampings, and specialized assemblies. The company employs 281 workers. Web: eemfg.com �2004 FastenerNews.com
