Black & Decker Fastener Sales Up

Black & Decker reported revenue from its Fastener and Assembly Systems segment grew 2% to $170.2 million during the first quarter of 2006, driven by “solid growth” in its international automotive divisions. The company had flat sales in its North American automotive division. Operating income edged up 1.2% to $24.3 million.
Consolidated revenue rose 1% to $1.53 billion, while net earnings gained 11% to $113.1 million.
