Specialty Screw Corp. is celebrating its 50th anniversary with events planned for Nov. 10-15, 2003, announced president Russell Johansson. Johansson and his father, Arvid Johnson, bought the Rockford, IL-based fastener manufacturer in 1973.
Specialty Screw was founded by Harold Dahlberg, Willard Wise, Arthur Novak and Wallace Carpenter on November 13, 1953. Originally located on 19th Street, the company moved to the current 80,000 sq ft manufacturing facility at 2801 Huffman Blvd in 1979.
Adopting the slogan, �Manufacturing Can Make It In Rockford,� Johansson said he is proud of Specialty Screw�s long tradition in Rockford.
