Taiwan Fastener Makers Target Japanese Market
Jason Sandefur
Taiwan fastener makers are focusing on Asia for increased sales, having tapped the U.S. and European market, the Taiwan Economic News reports. The U.S. and European markets have become saturated, so we need to tap the Asian market, and weve targeted Japan first, stated San Shing Fastech Corp. president Wu Shun-shen. San Shing expects to supply Toyota with 500 tons of fasteners by the end of 2004, and already sells 100 tons of fasteners each month to Mazda.
Fastener manufacturer Chun Yu Works & Co. supplies about 100 metric tons of fasteners a month to Japan. The company is considering opening sales outlets in Japan. Chun Yu has capacity to make more than 7,000 tons of fasteners per year. 2003 FastenerNews.com
