Mid-Atlantic Fastener Association Formed

The Mid-Atlantic Fasteners Distributors Association has been formed for the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.
The association’s first event is a golf outing on October 3, 2003,
Lee Johnson Jr. of Lee S. Johnson Associates Inc. announced.
After two years of planning the association “is finally up and off the ground,” Johnson said. “We are currently looking for officers and members.”
Membership is open to fastener and industrial distributors, manufacturers, importers, reps and service providers to the fastener and industrial markets. There is a $100 initiation fee plus $50 in annual dues. This year’s dues will be waived for those joining by the end of 2003, Johnson said.
Johnson said the MAFDA is trying to limit membership to the four states. “We do not want to infringe on our neighboring associations,” he explained.
Neighboring associations include New York/New Jersey based Metropolitan Fastener Distributors Association, Cleveland-based North Coast Fastener Association and the Southeastern Fastener Association.
