Nucor Q1 Sales Increase

Nucor Corp. reported net sales rose 37% to $1.48 billion, while net earnings fell 12% to $17.8 million due to increased scrap and energy costs. Charlotte, NC-based Nucor established new steel records by increasing production 32% to 4.26 million tons. Q1 cold finished steel sales, including fasteners, improved 35% to 69,000 tons.
