The FIN Fastener Stock Index rose 3.8% for the fourth quarter of 2002, following a 20.4% drop for the third quarter.
An index of related stocks rose 10.1% for the fourth quarter.
Fastener stocks gaining 10% or more were: Alcoa, Danaher, Dover, Honeywell, ITW, Nucor, Precision Castparts, Textron, Fastenal and R&B.
