NIFMSE Marking 35th Anniversary in Las Vegas

The 35th anniversary of what was first known as the “National Industrial Fastener Show & Conference” and held in Columbus, Ohio is happening this week in Las Vegas.

The 2015 National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas is the successor to the 1981 trade show in Columbus. The first Las Vegas version was held in 1997.

This year’s event will be from October 21-23, with conferences and an opening reception on Wednesday and the trade show open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.

General manager Susan Hurley said the current booth count is 827 – topping the record set last year at 822. The previous high of 821 was set in 2007.

Hurley has predicted 5,000 fastener distributors, importers, manufacturers, manufacturer’s reps, independent sales agents, media and others from 35 or more countries will attend. Last year show management’s figures were 4,606 registered. The record registration according to show management was 5,629 in 2007.

For 2015 there will be conferences on Wednesday: Fastener Technology Workshop, presented by the Fastener Training Institute; CFO, Controllers, Credit & Accounts Receivable Managers. National Fastener Industry Financial Manager Network and Business Credit Management Association; “Are You Making the Most of Specials?”, Pacific-West Fastener Association; and “Cognitive Diversity & Creative Problem Solving,” Women in the Fastener Industry.

There will be a one-hour opening reception Wednesday evening at Treasure Island.

On Thursday the Manufacturers’ Agents National Association will conduct a session on “The Biggest Sales You’ll Ever Make: Your Representative Firm”; and “It’s Not Rocket Surgery: Successful Sales Force Outsourcing with Independent Manufacturers’ Reps.”

The International Fastener Machinery & Suppliers Association will hold a reception at 11 a.m. on Friday.
