1988 FIN – Spirol International Created By Merger

November 14, 1988 FIN – Spirol International Corp., Danielson, Connecticut, is the name of a new corporation formed by the merger of Spirol Shim Co. and C.E.M. Co., Inc.

Spirol International will operate under the umbrella of Spirol International Holding Corp.

The product lines of the new corporation include those produced by C.E.M. (Spirol coiled spring pins, spacers, and threaded inserts; and also assembly equipment and vibratory feeding systems) and Spirol Shim (metal shims and stampings).

Spirol International Corporation consists of three divisions: the C.E.M. Division, Automated Products Division, and Shims Division. All three divisions share the same marketing, sales, quality control, engineering, purchasing and accounting functions.

Spirol International is headed by Hans Koehl, chairman and chief executive officer, and James Shaw, who was recently named president and chief operating officer.

The corporation has manufacturing facilities in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and at its headquarters in Danielson; subsidiaries in California, Canada, England and France; and licensees in West Germany, Mexico, and Japan.
