Fastenal Sales Rise Amid Vending Push

Fastenal opened 80 new stores in 2012, increasing the company’s store count by 3.1%, while managing to trim its overall workforce by .2% to 15,145 employees.
During the year the company installed 13,642 industrial vending machines — an increase of 183% from 2011.

Full-year sales totaled 3.13 billion, with net earnings reaching $420.5 million.
