2014 FIN – Ferrari Selling Legacy Fasteners 1 At A Time
While other car manufacturers are struggling with fastener-related issues, Ferrari of Italy has figured out a way to make some bucks with an engine screw.
But not just any engine screw. Ferrari is making available “an original Maranello GT engine fastener screw” encased in a handmade methacrylate sculpture.
The Ferrari 550 Maranello GT was 2-seat grand tourer produced from 1996 to 2001 and positioned as the company’s highest-end model, according to Wikipedia. The car’s engine was “a naturally aspirated V12 with 4 valves per cylinder, dual overhead cams and variable length intake manifold.”
Ferrari describes the fastener sculpture as “a piece of Ferrari branded memorabilia that is a must have for all true Cavallino Rampante collectors.”
The Ferrari logo is applied on the inside using a special screen-printing technique.
The $610 sculpture comes in a Ferrari red gift box with logo and a certificate describing the article.
