2007 NIFS Sets Total Registration Record; Distributor Numbers Up But Below 1995 Columbus Record

The National Industrial Fastener Show/West added a total registration record to its record number of booths for 2007.
Total registration rose 9% to 5,620, breaking the 1998 record of 5,226, according to show management. Total registration includes distributors, importers, manufacturers reps and others.
Distributor registration edged up 2.3% to 1,577, but remains below the NIFS record of 1,733 set in 1995 in Columbus, OH.
The new show location at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas allowed the 11th annual NIFS/West to jump to 821 booths with 688 exhibiting companies. The previous NIFS record was 653 booths in 1996 in Columbus. There were 554 exhibiting companies with 640 booths at NIFS/West in 2006 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel.
Registrants came from 36 countries, just one shy of the 37 in 2006.
Actual attendance is not known as NIFS figures include advance and onsite registration. NIFS management does not use a verified attendance system and the show is not audited by an independent trade show quality assurance system. Show management does provide full registrant information to exhibitors.
The 28th annual NIFS/East will be May 20-21, 2008, in Columbus. The next West show will be November 2-4, 2008, at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. For information contact show manager Susan Hurley.
