1995 FIN – Yes, Ohare Near O’Hare is Ohare, Not O’Hare
FASTENER HISTORY
August 4, 1995 FIN – Several questioned the spelling of Morgan Ohare Inc. of the Chicago suburb of Addison, Illinois, in a FIN article on the plant tours in conjunction with the Chicago Fastener Show.
Located less than seven miles from O’Hare International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world, Morgan Ohare provides zinc electroplating and heat treating for the fastener industry.
Gary Williams and his wife Elaine Williams founded Morgan Ohare in 1981.
Morgan was Gary’s father’s name and Ohare was his mother’s maiden name. Gary Williams died in 1987 and Elaine Williams is now owner and active president.
Bob Giomi, vice president of Morgan Ohare, said misspelling is frequent.
And when he goes to O’Hare in his Morgan Ohare shirt, travelers ask him directions as if he were an O’Hare employee instead of an Ohare employee.
When FIN confirmed the spelling before publishing the article, Nancy Rich, executive director of the Chicago Bolt, Nut & Screw Association, said she if frequently asked about the name.
Morgan Ohare is located at 701 Factory Rd., Addison, IL 60101-4339. Tel: 708 543-6780 Fax 708 543-6792 ©1995/2009 Fastener Industry News
