1992 FIN – Rawlplug Adding Machinery at Michigan Plant
June 29, 1992 FIN – New Rochelle, New York-based Rawlplug Company Inc., has taken delivery of two new high speed closed die headers, one new thread roller and pinch pointer for its Hudson, Michigan factory and has begun production of its tapper concrete screw line.
This line was formerly out-sourced from Elco Industries under the trade name Tapcon. With the Tapcon patent running out in February of 1993, Rawlplug is jumping the gun to produce a virtually identical line to its former product. The screws will be coated with a blue polymer coating and warranted for 15 years.
Rawlplug’s vice president-marketing, Jeffrey R. Powers, told FIN that the “The move to making our own concrete screw line will help make our distributors more competitive on a very mature product,” Rawlplug vice president-marketing Jeffrey R. Powers told FIN. “With the addition of stainless steel plus bulk packaging of the carbon steel screws our distributors will be able to make more money on Tappers than they ever could with Tapcon.”
The Tapper product line will be launched in August 1992.
Rawlplug has three manufacturing facilities, 350 employees and 30 branch warehouses and is headquartered at 200 Petersville Rd., New Rochelle, NY 10802.
