1991 FIN – Continental/Midland and Nitto Seiko Enter Agreement to Supply North American Customers
June 19, 1991 FIN – Continental/Midland Inc., Park Forest, Illinois, and Nitto Seiko Co., Ltd., Ayabe, Japan, have entered into a mutual collaboration agreement.
The initial thrust of this alliance, according to the companies, will be to provide fasteners to Nitto Seiko customers located in North America.
The agreement provides for the exchange of technology and marketing information pertaining to the manufacturing and selling of fasteners.
The long-term goal of this alliance is the formation of a joint venture manufacturing concern to be located in Ohio.
According to Continental/Midland, the alliance will enable Continental/Midland to provide a full range of engineered, quality products to both the domestic and transplant consumers of fasteners located in North America.
Continental/Midland Inc. is a manufacturer of externally threaded fasteners, tools and pins. With manufacturing facilities located in Park Forest, Illinois, and Millersport, Ohio, Continental/Midland supplies fasteners to the automotive, construction, industrial and electronics industries. Customers include General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, TRW, Johnson Controls and Briggs & Stratton.
Nitto Seiko Co. Ltd. is a manufacturer of fasteners, instrumentation and automation technology. Its manufacturing facilities are located in Ayabe and Yata, Japan; Jakartak, Indonesia; Samuthprakarn, Thailand; Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Selangor, Malaysia; and Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Nitto Seiko specializes in fasteners below 6mm in diameter. They supply fasteners to several industries, including home electronics, medical equipment and aerospace. ©1991/2014 Fastener Industry News.
