1990 FIN – Haskell Adds Thread Testing Lab
July 3, 1090 FIN – Haskell of Huntington, Inc. Huntington, West Virginia, installed a complete thread testing lab equipped with segment type thread gaging instruments purchased from the Johnson Gage Co.
According to Wesley A. Sites, sales manager and contract administrator, the lab allows the company to comply with all dimensional requirements set forth ANSI, ASME, Federal Standard H28/20A, Mil-S-7742, Mil-S-88709, and Mil-S-1222H.
Haskell of Huntington is a manufacturer of non-ferrous standard and special hex head cap screws and double ended studs, using stainless steel, naval brass, aluminum, silicon bronze, and monel. The company also manufacturers hex nuts from all those materials except stainless steel. Specializing in the military and government markets, Haskell also supplies directly and through distribution OEM markets such as the aerospace and marine industries.
As reported in FIN in mid 1987, Haskell of Huntington was formed by a group of local investors and professional people called United Huntington, which acquired the assets of the Wm. Haskell Co., formerly located in Rhode Island. United Huntington, formed to create jobs for people affected local steel mill shut down, operates a number of companies including Haskell of Huntington.
Heading the company is L. Dale Manns, president, who is also a board member of United Huntington. Holding management positions at Haskell for about a year now are Don Knotek, manufacturing manager, who was previously manufacturing manager at Pioneer Screw & Nut; Wesley A. Sites (mentioned above); and Brenda Harshbarger, controller.
