1987 FIN – Greenslade Adds Inspection Products Division
March 6, 1987 FIN – Greenslade & Company, Fort Worth, Texas, a nine-year old supplier of production tooling, services and equipment to fastener manufacturers has created a new division called Fastener Inspection Products as a single source or all fastener testing equipment and devices.
In addition to supplying conventional fastener testing devices such as thread ring and plug gages and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, Fastener Inspection Products has developed several instruments such as screw testing fixtures, slot depth and cloth width gages, length gages and head protrusion gages.
Company president Joe Greenslade tells FIN that on January 22 and 23 the first “Fastener Inspection Seminar/Workshop” was held in Fort Worth and some 24 distributors attended to learn how to properly inspect what they sell.
Greenslade tells us that Fastener Inspection Products has put together a couple pf brochures, which might be of interest to FIN readers. One is an easy to follow procedures with charts and illustration of the proper testing of tapping screws. “Detecting Bogus Grade 8 bolts” and “Hydrogen Embrittlement testing for Fasteners” are two other testing procedures manuals that the company now has available.
