1985 FIN – SPS Introducing Comp-Fast Fasteners
March 15, 1985 FIN – SPS Technologies, Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, has introduced Comp-Fast fasteners, which, according to product line manager David Patterson, are designed to “increase joint strength and durability in composite aircraft structures.”
They can be designed for a preload bearing stress of 10 ksi through 40 ksi in increments of 5 ksi. Several wrenching options are available including, Hi-Torque, Torq- Set, Phillips ACR, hex recess, external hex and 12-point configurations. Options are available with nuts, including blind nuts, sealers, and captive washer nuts.
